HIGHER‑DOSE / MACRODOSE FAQs

The following questions apply primarily to experiences beyond microdosing, where effects are more pronounced and additional care is required. We encourage those who are inexperienced with higher‑dose experiences to seek safe, informed guidance and support. This section is not intended to be a comprehensive guide to macrodosing, but an orientation toward responsibility, preparation, and care.

ARE THERE HEALTH CONDITIONS TO CONSIDER?

Individuals with a personal or family history of certain mental health conditions—such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder—should approach psilocybin with caution.
If you are taking prescription medications or have pre‑existing health conditions, particularly involving mental health, the heart, or liver, consult a qualified healthcare professional before participating.

SHOULD SOMEONE BE PRESENT DURING USE?

For first‑time or higher‑dose experiences, having a sober and trusted support person present is strongly recommended. A supportive presence can help create a safer and more grounded environment.

WHAT IS SET AND SETTING?

Set and setting become increasingly important as dose increases.
Set (Mindset): Your mental and emotional state can influence the experience. A calm, stable, and intentional mindset helps reduce unnecessary distress.
Setting (Environment): Choose a safe, comfortable, and familiar space. Avoid environments that feel chaotic or overstimulating.

HOW CAN A THERAPIST OR GUIDE HELP?

A therapist or coach trained in psychedelic integration can help individuals process and contextualize more intensive experiences.
Integration support may include reflection, emotional processing, and translating insights into everyday life.

WHY IS INTEGRATION IMPORTANT?

Integration is the process of making sense of an experience and carrying its insights into daily life. Whether experiences are subtle or profound, their long‑term value often depends on how they are reflected upon, understood, and embodied over time. Without integration, insights can feel confusing, fleeting, or disconnected from everyday reality. Integration may include practices such as journaling, conversation with trusted peers, therapy or coaching, time in nature, creative expression, or intentional changes in habits and relationships. The goal is not to analyze or force meaning, but to gently listen and allow insights to take root.

WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER AN EXPERIENCE?

Allow time for rest and reflection.
Journaling, spending time in nature, or speaking with a trusted person or integration professional can help support meaningful integration.

WHY DO EXPERIENCES VARY BETWEEN INDIVIDUALS?

Responses to psilocybin differ widely due to factors such as individual sensitivity, mindset, environment, prior experience, and the specific mushroom strain.

Some people report profound emotional or spiritual insights, while others experience more subtle effects. Variability is normal and should be approached with openness and respect.

IS IT SAFE TO MIX PSILOCYBIN WITH OTHER SUBSTANCES?

Combining psilocybin with alcohol or other substances is generally discouraged.
Mixing substances can lead to unpredictable effects and increased risk.
